MOTION Student Conference 2025
WHAT IS MOTION CONFERENCE?
MOTION is more than a conference. It’s more than bands and speakers. MOTION is about a generation empowered by Jesus, equipped to make a difference, and living out their faith every day! It is placed strategically at the end of summer to launch students into the school year refreshed, equipped, and inspired to live their lives in MOTION at home, in the local church, in their cities, and around the world.
THEME
At MOTION 2025, we will rally behind Isaiah 6:8 “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’. We believe that the MOTION Generation will be the one to rise up and answer the call.

WHAT TO EXPECT
MAIN SESSIONS
Main Sessions are hosted in the Legacy Arena by the Highlands team and feature our special guest artists and speakers. During each session, you will sit together as a group and students will learn how to connect with God in worship and apply the truth of His Word.
COMMUNITY GROUPS
Community Groups are designed to connect and engage students in life-giving relationships and lead them to dig deeper into the truths shared during main sessions. They are the perfect environment to meet new friends and develop tools to start the school year strong for Jesus. Groups are divided by age (middle school, high school, and college) and placed in exhibition halls throughout the BJCC property. Our students will have a Highlands Pastor help facilitate their group time.
MOTION STUDENTS INFORMATION
*The information below only applies to students who attend Church of the Highlands. Attending with another church? Visit motiongen.com to view resources available to you.
SEATING
Students will be seated with the Highlands Campus with which they registered and will be placed into a Seating Community. Seating Communities will rotate each day of conference. Being grouped with their Highlands Campus provides an excellent opportunity for your student to get to know their peers and campus leaders.
OUT-OF-TOWN STUDENTS - MOTION STUDENT PACKAGE
We want to make it easy for parents to send their students and students to have the best experience possible. Our team has worked hard to create an intentional experience and truly get to know more students from their campus.
This is available for purchase for middle school, high school, and incoming college freshmen students who attend Church of the Highlands and are traveling from an Highlands campus outside of the Birmingham area.
This package includes Transportation, Lodging, and Meals from when they leave the Highlands location to when they return after the conference.
The cost of this package is $250 in addition to your ticket.
Here are some additional details:
Transportation
Please plan to arrive to your designated drop-off location at the time listed for your campus.
Our MOTION team will greet you at that time, get you checked in, introduce you to Campus Serve Motion Team, and get you assigned to a vehicle/bus. Refer to your Motion Student Package guide for specific location information.
Lodging
Lodging will be provided at a hotel in close proximity to the BJCC. We have policies and standards in place to keep students safe.
Meals
Six meals and various snacks will be provided over the three days for every package. You may want to send additional spending money for your student for any extra snacks they may desire to purchase on their own. We are prepared to have Gluten Friendly options available, for students who need it. Please designate that on your registration.
Team
Our campus leaders will accompany students at all times.
Seating
Campuses will have reserved seating together in the Motion Students section of the Arena. This provides an excellent opportunity for your student to get to know their peers and campus leaders.
IN-TOWN STUDENTS
A MOTION Ticket does not include transportation or meals. See recommended Add-On options below.
Here are some additional details:
Transportation
Individual Drop-off and Pick-up
If you plan to be dropped off and picked up each day of MOTION, we encourage individuals to Drop Off/Pick Up by the 19th Street entrance, across on the West side of the complex.
When picking up, please call your child and stay parked on the sidewalk until it is confirmed that your child is walking your way.
Shuttles can be added to your registration for an additional cost of $40 (for all 3 days)
This Add-On covers transportation for all three days of conference. Shuttles to and from the BJCC will be made available daily from the following campuses: Alabaster, Fultondale, Grandview, Grants Mill, Greystone, Riverchase, Southwest, and Woodlawn.
Simply drop off your student in the morning at the campus nearest you, and pick them up that evening at the same campus.
Parking
Parking is available in several locations around the BJCC and is typically $20-25 per day per spot taken in designated lots. Please note, if you have a bus or large van, you may be charged per day for total spots you take up in that lot. We do not recommend parking anywhere north of 11th Avenue N.
For parking options, see our MOTION parking map.
Vans
We encourage Vans to Drop Off/Pick Up on Richard Arrington Blvd, across from the Sheraton Hotel. The best oversized Van parking lot is the Green Lot by Protective Stadium.

We encourage Buses to Drop Off/Pick Up on 11th Avenue N. Bus parking will only be available north of the BJCC off of FW Shuttlesworth. Note that parking in any lots you could be charged for the number of spots that you take up in that specific lot.
